GeoExchange is the name for a technology called “Geothermal” or “ground source” heating and cooling. Ridge Heating and Air Conditioning is the authorized dealer for WaterFurnace GeoExchange units.

No matter how hot, cold, sunny or cloudy it may be above ground, it’s always a constant temperature below ground or at the bottom of a pond. This constant temperature is a starting point for your GeoExchange system.
During the summer, the GeoExchange system captures heat from inside a home or business and transfers it to the ground. During the winter, the process is reversed. Heat is extracted from the ground, compressed and released inside the building. Because GeoExchange systems transfer heat instead of creating it, they’re incredibly efficient. There are almost too many benefits to mention:

Cost Savings: Your GeoExchange system will reduce your heating and cooling bills, on average by 30 percent to 60 percent by tapping into the constant temperature in your backyard.

Free Hot Water: The system can use the heat it removes from your home to provide you with free hot water during the cooling season.

Less maintenance and repairs: Because your GeoExchange system does not need an outside condensing unit (as necessary with traditional air conditioning systems), the system will not be exposed to rain, sleet, snow, wind, vandals, rodents and other pests. While most outside units will only last five years due to coil corrosion caused by salt, GeoExchange systems can function well for 20 to 40 years or more.

Breathe Easier: Your GeoExchange system will improve the internal air quality of your home because it will eliminate the byproducts of combustion, such as carbon monoxide. Many people report a decrease in allergy-related problems.

Feel Safe: Your GeoExchange system will have no fuel tank, no flame, no fumes, and no emissions. This system will safely and cleanly provide you with year-round comfort and peace of mind.
